Distinction Between Aboveground And Underground Fuel Tanks

Installation location: aboveground fuel tanks are placed above the ground, while underground fuel tanks are underground.

Safety and environmental protection focus: aboveground models are more susceptible to impact, have a higher risk of fire, but leaks are easier to detect and manage; underground have concealed leaks (which can easily pollute the soil / groundwater), have a prominent risk of corrosion, and have stricter environmental requirements, requiring corresponding leak detection monitoring anti-seepage facilities.

Cost and maintenance: aboveground models have low initial installation and low maintenance costs, and are more convenient; underground models have a high initial cost due the investment in pit excavation, anti-corrosion and anti-floating, and maintenance requires excavation, which is difficult.

Applicable scenarios: aboveground models suitable for areas with sufficient space, remote areas, or industrial and mining enterprises with their own oil depots; underground models are suitable for urban gas stations, areas with limited space, areas with strict environmental requirements.
